Airservices Australia continues to be at the forefront of industry recognition for its innovation and delivery of safe, efficient and environmentally sustainable products and services. Recent achievements include:

2005

IATA Eagle Award

Airservices Australia named world's best air traffic services provider by the International Air Transport Association (for the second time in six years).

MAX Award

Airservices Australia "Flying Around" website won the MAX award in the category, best government experience. The MAX award is a major international web development competition, sponsored by Macromedia. The award was presented in Anaheim, California at the MAX 2005 conference.

Asset Finance International – Cross Border Lease Award

Airservices Australia was awarded an ‘Asset Finance International – Deal of the Year’ award in London in March 2003 for its US ‘Qualified Technology Equipment’ cross border lease over its air traffic control assets. The deal received particular recognition for its innovative commercial structuring. At the time of completion, the transaction, valued at $917.2 million, was the largest lease of its kind in the world and provided the corporation with a benefit in excess of $60M in revenue.

Tasmanian Government, Environmental Excellence Award

Airservices Australia, Airport Services, ARFF Launceston Airport have won a Tasmanian Government, Environmental Excellence Award in the Government Business Enterprise and Infrastructure category.

The award was for the upgrade and rehabilitation of the hot fire training area at Launceston Airport.

In undertaking this project the vulnerable Green and Gold Frog was discovered in the retention pond area. The project covers the remediation and protection of the retention pond area to conserve the habitat of the frog.
