Darwin opened its new Fire Station in March 1999. The Station was opened and dedicated to the memory of Graeme Smith (deceased), an ex-Fire Station Manager of Darwin. Darwin ARFF operates with a configuration of 2 fire vehicles. The airport is a joint RAAF and Civil Aviation Airport.
