Western Australia Route Review - Stage 1 and 2 Combined - Implementation June 2008

As previously detailed, Stage 1 implementation was scheduled for June 2007. The complexity of factors impacting on Perth operations required additional work and the decision was therefore taken to defer the implementation of changes to November 2007, when stages 1 & 2 could be implemented simultaneously.

The WARRP Implementation team has conducted further design meetings with all affected units, including the Australian Defence Force. These meetings have focussed on the need to gain additional access to some military airspace to facilitate a segregated traffic pattern.

As Airservices Australia is committed to achieving an airspace design that provides the most benefits to all providers and users, additional time has been required to reach an agreed solution that will deal with predicted traffic increases.

Schematic diagrams for the WARRP will be provided with the next update, with an anticipated implementation timeline of simulation in the 3rd quarter of 2007 and final implementation of the WARRP now expected in June 2008.

The Project team are working on interim measures for a Nov 2007 implementation whilst concurrently working on the objectives of the Western Australia Route Review.
