RAPAC Presentation - Perth - 29 February 2008

Primary Aim

  1. Reduce exposure between aircraft pairs by implementing a fixed route structure to;
    1. minimise conflicts in climb/descent phase (36-120nm);
    2. place crossovers (conflict points) close to Perth or in the cruise phase of flight

  2. Optimise use of  modern aircraft capabilities in each of the following system components:
    1. Arrival/Departure procedures
    2. Fixed Segregated Route Structure (RNAV based)
    3. Flow management including “Feeder fix” philosophy
    4. Environment
    5. Sectorisation

  3. Implement a revised Traffic Management Program

  4. Reduce delays for aircraft climbing into controlled airspace and potential conflicts in Class G airspace.

  5. Review sectorisation
